CHILD & ADULT PROPHYLAXIS
A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning procedure performed to thoroughly clean the teeth. It’s an important dental treatment for halting the progression of periodontal disease and gingivitis.
Periodontal treatment is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins.
A dental extraction is a removal of a tooth from the dental alveolus bone. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, most often it is due to disease, trauma, or crowding.
